Please visit the web sites listed below to get details about these two options, as their offerings are very different. Note that the sign up for each of these options is handled directly through the farm, rather than through the KWT CSA google group - see the links below.

Share Items for November 13

Farm News: We’ve finally had our first frost the night of November 2, which put an end to the tomatoes for good… fortunately we plan ahead with lots of cold-hardy greens and herbs, which keep producing despite being frozen at times. For those of you with kids, one of our favorite recipes is macaroni and cheese with broccoli – a great way to work those veggies into some standard comfort food. Fennel is great slow-roasted with plenty of olive oil in a closed dish in the oven (after about 45 mins to an hour, it gets soft and sweet), while you’re roasting those winter squashes.

Winter share and egg share signups are officially open now, you can sign up online at www.gardenofevefarm.com/WinterCSAShare.htm with a credit card, or it can debit your checking account. We will have pickup locations at the Riverhead farm, Williamsburg, Bushwick, and Kensington Windsor Terrace. In addition, we usually have people bringing boxes back to Bayport and Roslyn so we should be able to help you coordinate a carpool if you need that. Please contact us if you have questions or need help with the new system at farmer@gardenofevefarm.com!

We’re looking forward to celebrating the harvest at two CSA potlucks, one east and one west. This Sat Nov 13 from 7-9 pm we invite all our NYC CSA members, friends and family (and anyone from anyplace else who wants to make the trip) to join us at Brooklyn Kitchen, 100 Frost Street, between Leonard Street and Manhattan Avenue.

Next Sunday, Nov 21 from 5-8 pm we invite our CSA members to join us at the Riverhead Farmstand for a Harvest Potluck featuring some home-grown meats, as well as veggies. We’ve seen you, but have we really gotten to meet? We’ll take advantage of this harvest to eat, drink and be merry. Email farmer@gardenofevefarm.com with questions and to RSVP. Both events are free!
