Full to Capacity!

Just a quick note to say that the farmer has let us know that as of today, we've generated so many share purchases for 2007 that we won't be able to take any more for the season.

We're very sorry for anyone who wanted to be involved but wasn't yet signed up for the season; and we're very appreciative for the early and strong show of support the Kensington/Windsor Terrace community has shown for this project.

If you did hope to join us this season but hadn't sent your payment in to the farmer, please do drop us a line at kwtcsa@gmail.com. If any enrolled members have to back out for the season (moving, etc.), we'll try to connect them with folks who'd like to purchase the unused portion of their share. And we'll save your info and let you know about plans for the next year's CSA season.

Thanks again to everyone for making this happen -- we'll see you June 9th!

KWT CSA Reminder - Sign Up by June 1!

REMINDER

JUNE 1ST DEADLINE TO SIGN UP FOR CSA!

If you are planning to join the KWT CSA this season, your form and payment are due by June 1st.

Payment must be received before the first pick-up in order for you to receive your fresh veggies / fruit / eggs and/or flowers on June 9th!

SECURING YOUR SPOT: The form can be found at the bottom of this web page:
http://www.gardenofevefarm.com/csa_Kensington_Prospect_Heights.htm
The form should be mailed with your check made out to Garden of Eve to: PO Box 216, Aquebogue NY 11931.  DON'T include the $10 administrative fee (which covers supplies we need for distribution).  We will be collecting this when you first come to pick up.

**The distribution will be on Saturdays from 10-12 starting June 9th at the Community Garden on East 4th Street between Caton and Fort Hamilton.**

SIGNING UP TO HELP WITH DISTRIBUTION: The CSA is volunteer-run and needs the help of all members to have efficient distributions.  The good news is that distribution is fun, and helps you get to know your farmers and neighbors better!  During the first few distributions, core group members will sign you up for your volunteer shift.  Shifts will begin at 9:30 and end at 12:30, which includes time for set up and take down.

OTHER DETAILS: After June 1, when our list is finalized, we will provide further information to members on assignment of weeks for half shares (A or B) and ways of keeping touch with CSA members / happenings (blog, listserv, etc.).

QUESTIONS?: Check:

ABOUT JUST FOOD - Just Food runs the unique Community Supported Agriculture "CSA" in NYC, City Farms, Community Food Education and Institutional Purchasing programs, while advocating for marketplace and policy change that strengthens people, farms and communities. In 2006 Just Food's efforts provided over $1m in sales to local family farms, while providing around 10,000 New York City people with access to organic and sustainably-grown food. Just Food has provided assistance to help start and manage 8 urban farmstands and 50 CSAs citywide, and opens additional sites every year! We also run a VISTA program that helps improve our capacity to develop CSA and farmers' markets and build self-reliance in low-income NYC neighborhoods.
